ALL THAT REMAINS Guitarist Featured On 'Rusty Cooley's Guitar Asylum TV' (Video)

April 11, 2011

Guitarist Oli Herbert of Massachusetts metallers ALL THAT REMAINS was the highlighted guest on this weekend’s episode of "Rusty Cooley's Guitar Asylum TV".

Herbert talked with Rusty Cooley about his playing style, his responsibility for writing all of the tablature books for all of the ALL THAT REMAINS songs.

Oli, who seems more like a music professor backstage than one who is playing metal around the world, is a perfectionist with his playing style as much as Eric Johnson is about tone.

The television viewers got a double dose of guitar, with Cooley providing another master guitar lesson and then Oli providing one of his own lessons for guitar players and fans alike. Oli then takes Rusty on an onstage tour to discuss his peculiar amp enclosure as well as his signature Ibanez and his onstage pedal setup.

"Rusty Cooley's Guitar Asylum TV" is a 30-minute television show headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Hal Leonard Corporation has set an April 30 release date for "For We Are Many" from ALL THAT REMAINS featuring transcriptions of all 12 songs from the Massachusetts band's searing 2010 CD.

"For We Are Many" debuted at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart while also coming in at No. 1 on the Hard Music Albums chart.

"For We Are Many" sold 29,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The band's previous CD, "Overcome", opened with under 29,000 units in September 2008 to enter The Billboard 200 chart at No. 16.

"For We Are Many" was released through a joint venture between Prosthetic Records and Razor & Tie. The CD hit the same day the band headed out on a month-long U.S. headlining tour with support from ASKING ALEXANDRIA, UNEARTH, BORN OF OSIRIS and AND SHE WHISPERED.

"For We Are Many" was recorded last spring at Zing Studios in Massachusetts and produced by KILLSWITCH ENGAGE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who also helmed ALL THAT REMAINS' "This Darkened Heart" and "The Fall of Ideals". Decibel magazine called the album, "Proof that neck-snapping tempos, thoughtful soloing and a catchy chorus or three can co-exist," while Outburn magazine remarked, "If there was ever any question as to whether ALL THAT REMAINS deserved to be considered among the melodic metalcore elite, 'For We Are Many' will dispel any lingering doubts once and for all."
